Theory of Light & Shade

This dawing of drapery haging from a wall show the light projected on them and the shadows that are cast as well as the form shadows of the drapery. The perspective of the drawing is very good as it clearly follows the rule of thirds but also the most detailed part of the drawing lies on the rule of thirds.

The shading of the image clearly shows the cast shadow on the walls behind the drapery but also some slightly on areas of overlapping drapery, the shading also shows that there is form shadow created by the light source on the drapery. The highlights which are created from the light source that have no shading at all are merged together with the form shadows and cast shadows, which add depth to the image.
